Can something be done to cut traffic in New York City?

Mayor Bloomberg has recommended a controversial plan to reduce traffic and improve transit. In July, the state legislature create a traffic congestion mitigation commission to look at ways to tame traffic. Campaign staff attorney Gene Russianoff is one of 17 members of the commission. The NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign has prepared this section of our web site to help transit riders keep track of what's happening on proposals to cut traffic.
