It's up to your employer to decide whether to offer TransitChek. You will need to convince your company, business or agency that they will benefit as well. Here's how to make the case:

1. Your employer will save money.

Employers can pay up to 40% less in payroll taxes on the TransitChek benefits they provide. Your employer will not have to pay federal Social Security, unemployment, Medicare, or Worker’s Compensation taxes on the total amount of TransitChek benefits they give out. These savings would be offset by the modest costs of administering TransitChek, which include a 4% charge by the TransitCenter, a non-profit agency that currently runs the program. The TransitCenter works with employers to make the benefit easy to deliver to employees.

2. Many employers - large, medium and small - already provide TransitChek.
