Does anyone know what's going on with the E/F in the mornings? In the past week and a half my commute time from Roosevelt Avenue to 34th street on either the E or F has almost doubled on most days. The trains -crawl- and stop/start in the allegedly 'express' section after Roosevelt, and then again when heading south in Manhattan.
As if the crowds weren't bad enough, this is going to make me suicidal.
Agreed. I've been keeping track of the local trains that are at 71st Ave when my supposed express train gets there. Guess what? When my express train gets to 36 St so does that local.

If you're heading to Times Square or anywhere on 53rd Street just take a local. It's the same speed if not faster and not nearly as crowded (expressaholics still think their precious E is still the fastest train on NY).

The problem is that the V doesn't come nearly as often as the E and the F, and one of the things I want to do is minimize my time spent on the horribly crowded Roosevelt Ave platform. When will people start falling over onto the tracks from overflow?

90% of the people there wait for the express though. I think the V comes every 7 or 8 minutes, which is twice the waiting time for the E but it's probably going to be worth it until the track work ends.

The A would never be local so the V can be express. But who knows, maybe if the V ran on the Fulton local it would get slightly more riders than the C by offering riders there a 6th av line without need to take the F at Jay St or W4th.
The Queens bivd line between roosevelt and queens plaza is getting a roadbed repacement south of 65th st and track work won't be done until july.
ah so that explains it...
the E's and F's are horrible now, their going so slow in that area between 65th and 36th, and also its creating a bottle neck delaying other trains as well

Actually i wasn't thinking of sending the V down Fulton. I was thinking of making a new connection from QB to the Rockaways via the LIRR line.

Well surprise, surprise. There are new service advisories up for the F rush hour trains. Some F trains will run local in queens until July 18th now - previous date was July 3. How can they be that far behind? This has been going on for 2 months now. Unbelievable.
